"Miss Caroline" has been in the dance industry for over 30 years. Over the years she has studied Classical Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Contemporary, Hiphop and Musical Theatre. She was also a student member at Broadway Dance Center in NYC for many years where she studied under the late Frank Hatchett, Slam, Q, as well as Jeff Shade, and many other wonderful choreographers. She has choreographed for musicals arranged by the Liberty Partnership Coordinator at Binghamton High School. And in 2005, she created the Broome Community College Dance Club and choreographed for it regularly. Caroline has also been a member of NADAA (National Association of Dance and Affiliated Arts, Inc.). In 2010, Caroline joined the local performing group, the Rock Bottom Players, as a featured dancer and choreographer. Also in 2010, she joined the American Association of Dance Instructors and was a Delegate for New York State for National Dance Week.
Susannah "Miss Red" St. Clair has been dancing for over 15 years. She has studied Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Hiphop, Latin Hiphop, Modern, Irish dance, and various styles of Swing dance. Susannah participated in many Regional and National competitions throughout her years. From 2014-2018, Susannah attended SUNY Oswego where she was part of the Del Sarte Dance Club. She was on the executive board for the club where she assumed the role of Vice President from 2016-2017, and then as President of the club from 2017-2018. During her time in Oswego, she had the opportunity to study under some very talented dancers and choreographers, some of them being the Ailey II Company, Houston Ballet II, Dr. Ligia Pinheiro, Cheryl Wilkins-Mitchell, also by learning from her peers in Del Sarte who came from dance studios all over the country. Susannah has had the opportunity to dance and teach at Broome County Dance Center since its opening in 2010.
Miss Inaya has been dancing for 20 years. Over the years she has studied Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Modern and Hiphop. Inaya competed in several Regional and National competitions over the years where she was the recipient of many Top Ten and Special Awards. Inaya attended Penn State University from 2017-2019 before transferring to Binghamton University. Inaya has been a student of Miss Caroline's since age three, and an Instructor at Broome County Dance Center for several years.
Miss Kyra has been dancing since the age of three. She has studied Modern, Contemporary, Ballet, Jazz, Tap and Hiphop. She is also a certified Yoga instructor, specializing in Vinyasa, Restorative and Chair Yoga. Miss Kyra is a graduate of Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Dance with Concentrations in Performance and Education and Minors in Italian and Women & Gender Studies.
With her passion for dance and also working full-time at our beloved Binghamton University in the Center for Civic Engagement, we're so excited to have Miss Kyra join the Broome County Dance Center family and share her expertise!
Miss Ashley grew up dancing in Manhattan and trained at the Martha Graham School and Joffrey. She studied Modern, Contemporary, Ballet, Pointe, Jazz and Tap, and each Summer, Ashley participated in the Rockette Summer Intensive. Ashley is also attending Binghamton University to complete her degree in Psychology. We're excited to have Miss Ashley join our Broome County Dance County family!
Mr. Lionel has been a gymnastics instructor since 2016. He is experienced in coaching all gymnastics levels for individuals aged 1.5 to 18 years old.
He is currently the director of the Ninja Program at Head Over Heels Gymnastics in Vestal, NY and is a Ninja Sports International (NSI) certified coach. In addition to coaching Ninja, Mr. Lionel has coached beginner and advanced recreational gymnastics, tumbling, and private and semi-private lessons. He has held tumbling clinics for various local teams including Seton Cheer and the Saint James Cheer Club.
Not only is Mr. Lionel an amazing instructor, he's also Dance Dad to one of our dancers. We're so happy to have him on the BCDC Team!
